Club History
The Weimaraner Club of S.A. Inc. was formed in 1976 by a group of dedicated Weimaraner owners who were interested in promoting this versatile breed. Since those early days, the Club has progressed to a stage where it has mostly participated in all areas available to the Gundog owner.
The club has conducted Breed Specialty Shows, Retrieving Trials, Endurance Tests, Sanctioned Obedience Trials as well as Member's Fun Days, Puppy Socialisation Parties and Dog Walks.
The Committee worked hard with fund raising to put on a National Breed Specialty Show that was conducted in November 2001. This was only the second Weimaraner National to be held in Australia.
There were 31 dogs entered in the Obedience Trial which was judged by Mrs Betty Cowling (Victoria). There was a record entry in the Conformation of 215 dogs, both varieties. Entries came from every state in Australia. This was judged by Herr Heinrich Gieseman (Germany), who is the Weimaraner Club of Germany's Breed Warden.
